Yiannis Tyrovolas was born in Athens, Greece. He has been active in photography for more than 25 years, in poetry for 15 years, and lately in multimedia. His interests in photography are in industrial archeology and urban traces (abstract artistic synthesis). He has photographed about 300 abandoned Greek industrial plants. He tries to link industrial photographic documents with historical and current social and political issues using multimedia. His work has been exhibited in four atomic and eight group exhibitions in Greece. He also participates with photography and multimedia in events in Europe and USA. He is active in Mandragoras magazine (specializing in literature and poetry). His photographs can be found in Greek museums, the Aegean University in Lesvos, in the book edited by the General Confederation of Workers of Greece, Syros branch 2018, in private collections and in ‘Mandragoras’ and ‘Lesbian calendar’ magazines.
